This is the finished quilt that my sister and I completed in 2003. This school year, 2009-2010 I am recreating this quilt so that I can hang it in my classroom. Each block has something to do with Kansas history and although I teach world history my students need to understand their state history as well.

Quilting

One of my hobbies is quilting and I have had the opportunity to make a little history in Kansas. My twin sister and I have designed, created, and with the help of over 1,500 quilters quilted the quilt "Kansas Pride". The quilt is hanging in the governor's office in Topeka (at least that was what was told to me about two weeks ago). Once I figure out how I will include a picture of the quilt and I am hoping over time to highlight each block and its significance to the history of Kansas.
